Alek creates music, sound, and video for stories and storytelling, with a particular interest in live events. Regional credits include: Dutch Masters, It’s Fine, I’m Fine, Jordan, Oslo, Dear Elizabeth, Macbeth (video design), A Doll’s House, Fences, The Mountaintop, 4000 Miles (sound design & original music). Dance & film: Resfeber (original music & direction, modern dance piece), The Sweetest Land (original score, documentary film). Alek is also the co-founder of Black Ink Presents, which has produced numerous live-to-film concerts and other music/media experiences, including: Rocketman in Concert with special appearances by Elton John and Taron Egerton, Coco in Concert, which was filmed and produced as a special for release on Disney+, La La Land in Concert, Love Actually in Concert, and Danny Eflman’s Music from the Films of Tim Burton. Alek holds a degree in English with a focus in Poetry Writing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In his free time, he enjoys reading, studying Ancient Greek, and making terrible puns.
